October 2023 UCaaS Enhancements for Atlas

Product changes and fixes

On October 30, 2023, additional feature changes and fixes will be added to the Atlas customer lifecycle management portal to improve user experience and functionality.

Updates

Webex email validation tool

A new Webex Email Validation tool has been added to the Tools menu that will let you pre-validate in bulk a list of user’s email addresses. It’s highly recommended to use this tool to determine if users can be successfully created in Webex. In many cases, customers might already be in their own organization, and this might cause conflicts when trying to onboard them to another Webex org.

When selecting the tool, you can download a template CSV from the dialog that contains a single Email ID column. Fill up this column with email addresses to validate. This does not create any services, so you can use this at any time.

The resulting CSV will be emailed to the email address associated with your Atlas account you signed in with once the report is generated. The report will contain a response code and a description for each email address that indicates the likely success of importing each user. Some example return values are the following, though there are others as well.

Response code

Description

100

Provisioning preCheck validation successful.

2012

The subscriber cannot be provisioned for Webex for BroadWorks because they are already entitled to Webex Calling.

2045

The specified subscriber is already onboarded with a package into this customer organization.

If in doubt about a particular response, open a ticket and we'll help review it.

Advanced branding email domain configuration

Many operations within the Customer Administration Portal trigger emails to customers. A new Email Domain Setup tool has been added to Partner Setup that allows you to create a subdomain that we use to send those customer emails and provides a number of tools to support, such as SPF, DKIM to help do the domain validation so that the emails don't get blocked.

To start, click Add Domain and enter a subdomain of your main domain to use. This will be used as the from for emails sent to your customers.

Once you enter the domain, SPF, DKIM, and MX record information will be generated for you. Initially, everything will show as unverified.

You can create an MX record for the subdomain with your DNS provider and then copy the generated values above to use with your DNS settings. Once done, click Verify DNS Settings. The tool will very the values against the records you create and show the value read back in the Current Value sections above.

This will help ensure your emails get through to email providers such as Google that need SPF and/or DKIM settings.

Fixes

Suspend/Resume not sending emails for Webex seat packages

When suspending/resuming a Webex user, the service change emails are not being sent. This has been fixed.
